Job Description

Warehouse Associate Position Summary The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the receipt, storage, kitting, and movement of components and materials that feed our control panel production lines. This role keeps inventory accurate, project carts complete, and the shop floor supplied — directly supporting on-time delivery of finished panels to our customers. Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management Receive, inspect, and put away incoming materials including electrical components, enclosures, wire, terminal blocks, breakers, contactors, PLCs, and consumables. Maintain accurate inventory counts through cycle counts, bin audits, and ERP/inventory system transactions. Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages, and obsolete stock. Maintain organized bin locations and labeling to support fast, accurate picking. Kitting Project Carts Pull components from the BOM (bill of materials) for each panel build and stage them on project carts. Verify part numbers, quantities, and revisions against engineering drawings and pick lists before releasing carts to assembly. Flag missing, backordered, or substitute parts to purchasing and production planning. Keep kitting stations clean, organized, and stocked with packaging, labels, and tools. Material Handling Move raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished panels between receiving, storage, kitting, production, and shipping areas. Stage panels and crates for outbound shipment; assist with packing, blocking, bracing, and load securement. Handle materials in a way that prevents damage to sensitive electronic and electromechanical components (ESD-sensitive devices, precision instruments, painted enclosures). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse following 5S and shop-floor housekeeping standards. Forklift Operation Safely operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and transport materials. Conduct daily pre-shift forklift inspections and report defects immediately. Load and unload trucks at the dock, including handling LTL freight, palletized goods, and crated finished panels. Operate in compliance with
OSHA 29 CFR
1910.178 and all internal safety procedures. General Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout awareness, and ESD handling procedures where applicable. Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in process improvements. Perform other warehouse and production support duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 1+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution experience. Current forklift operator certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to read and interpret pick lists, bills of materials, packing slips, and basic engineering drawings. Comfortable using an ERP or inventory management system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, Fishbowl, or similar) and basic computer applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling part numbers and quantities. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in an electrical, electronics, or control panel manufacturing environment. Familiarity with electrical components such as breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, wire, and enclosures. Experience with kitting to BOM in a make-to-order or engineer-to-order environment. Working knowledge of barcode scanners and RF inventory systems. Understanding of ESD handling practices. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally, with or without assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and squat throughout the shift. Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with variable temperatures, noise, and dust. Vision sufficient to read part numbers, labels, and small markings on components.
