What You Will Get To Do:
Responsible to perform full spectrum of design application parts management tasks on assigned system and sub-systems to ensure streamlined risk identification, risk mitigation, and tracking of at-risk component issues during the design and manufacturing of weapon systems and equipment under an overarching Systems Engineering framework. Ability to review and approve multilayered systems of systems being designed and fabricated via several layers of contractors and suppliers distributed across the country. Demonstrates a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts relative to part/material manufacturing and FMEA. Demonstrates general knowledge of Systems Engineering, multi-generational program system and/or multi-generational program subsystem development, and familiarity with supplier management. Works independently to provide innovative technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using literature review and testing as appropriate. Create, analyze, and produce roadmaps, impact, and issue reports and present data to stakeholders, customers, and upper management. Research specifications and standards to support part, material & process engineering processes being implemented across multiple internal and external supplier sub-system designs and manufacturing processes. Maintain close coordination with several integrated product teams and provide detailed status to program leadership, as required. Self-motivated, work under general direction, and work well in teams. Collaborates with systems engineers, design engineers, project managers, reliability engineers, and external customers to establish clear part, material and manufacturing process design documentation traceability to system performance This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience U.S. citizen Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance Strong written and oral communication for test plans and stakeholder briefings Basic project-management skills (schedule, risk, resource coordination) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, ASME Y14.24 drawings, and 3D models Knowledge of material properties, process controls, failure modes, material traceability, and serialized-part control Ability to read, apply, and generate reports per DoD/aerospace standards such asMIL-STD-11991
Experience in related fields (DOE, automotive, medical-device manufacturing, quality assurance) acceptable Experience with MIL-STD or industry machining, welding, soldering, electronic assembly, cable-harness fabrication, coating/surface-treatment systems, and cross-disciplinary quality & documentation Willingness to work on-site in manufacturing facilities, including clean-room or hazardous environments Availability for up to 15% domestic/international travel for supplier visits, audits, and technical briefingsPreferred Qualifications:
Siemens NX, Capital, Expedition and Teamcenter experience Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering. Experience reviewing & approving materials and processes Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, and control plan development Relevant machining experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) ASME Y14.5-2023 or ISO 1101-2023, Surface Finish ISO 1302 or ASME B46.1, Material SpecificationASTM AISI/SAE
