Full Job Description Position Summary:
As a Dog Handler, you will be responsible for the care, supervision, and well-being of dogs in our facility. Your role includes managing playgroups, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all dogs are safe, happy, and healthy during their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise playgroups and ensure the safety of all dogs. Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces regularly. Follow all cleaning rules, policies, and procedures for dog safety. Feed, water, and administer medication to dogs as directed. Assist with the intake and outtake procedures for dogs, ensuring all documentation is accurate. Observe dog behavior and report any concerns to the supervisory staff. Is committed to the Dogtown Operating System. (Company Values, Standard Work, Teamwork and Making Improvements, etc.) Treats people as people (Respect, communication skills, trust). Practices all company Environmental / Security / Safety requirements. Ready to start work on time. Returns from breaks/lunch on time.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. Veterinary assistant experience or dog training is a plus Passion for working with animals; experience with dogs is a plus. Basic understanding of dog behavior and safety protocols. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Technical Skills:
Understands dog behavior, bite prevention, handling skills, and breaking up dog fights Knows how to work the yard by correcting dogs and safely breaking up dog fights. Ability to use software/systems (Gingr, Deputy, etc)
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
