Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Production Material Handler is responsible for moving and storing pallets of finished goods coming off the production line. In addition, responsibility includes placing empty cans and bottles on the top of the production line. Requires safe and effective use of a forklift for daily tasks. Responsible for accurately placing finished goods pallets into the inventory throughout the warehouse. Operating safely and efficiently is a key responsibility. Essential Functions- Safely and effectively operate a forklift on a daily basis.
- Utilize a forklift to place empty bottle and can pallets at the top of the production line as needed.
- Move pallets of finished goods off the production to the warehouse using a forklift.
- Stack pallets in the warehouse in a safe manner using a forklift.
- Place inventory into the proper location within the warehouse.
- Daily inspect the forklift at the beginning of each shift to ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Place tracking sheets on each pallet of finished goods.
- Keep the warehouse environment clean and safe.
- Load Bags-In-A- Box onto tractor trailers as needed.
- Clean up spills in a timely manner.
- Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment for various duties and functions.
- Be familiar with emergency protocols for production area and warehouse. Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred.
- Ability a obtain a forklift operators certificate.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and teammates.
- Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and sense of urgency. Physical Requirements
- Required to sit; stand; walk; squat or kneel; bend; manually manipulate; reach outward and above shoulders; and climb.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Regularly lift/carry or push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth)
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Must be able to work in a non- air-conditioned environment and must be able to occasionally work in a loud environment.
