Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our facility. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations in shipping, receiving, and inventory management, supporting our commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with heavy equipment operation to contribute effectively to our logistics processes. Responsibilities Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety standards such as OSHA guidelines. Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and track orders. Perform order picking tasks with precision, utilizing pick techniques to ensure correct items are selected. Manage shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Handle materials safely through heavy lifting, stacking, and organizing inventory within the warehouse. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve workflow processes. Assist in inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Operate cranes and other heavy machinery for loading or unloading large or bulky items when necessary. Support the training of new team members on equipment operation and safety procedures. Requirements Proven warehouse distribution experience with a solid understanding of materials handling operations. Prior experience as an order picker or in shipping & receiving roles within a warehouse setting. Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments. Experience operating RF scanners and warehouse management systems for order processing. Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks. Knowledge of construction or industrial materials is a plus. Warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous for leadership responsibilities. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Valid certification for forklift or crane operation preferred but not mandatory.
