Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This role involves working in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse environment, focusing on the disassembly, handling, and inventory management of computer equipment and related electronic components. You will use hand tools frequently, perform data entry in a proprietary system and Microsoft Excel, and rotate through different departments to support a variety of warehouse tasks throughout the day. Responsibilities Disassemble computer components, outdated or damaged server racks, and memory banks using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and hammers. Handle, sort, and organize electronic equipment and materials for resale, destruction, or metal recovery according to written instructions and established procedures. Perform computer-based data entry using a proprietary internal system and Microsoft Excel to track inventory, record disassembly activities, and maintain accurate documentation. Support general warehouse operations including packing, picking, material handling, unloading, and inventory-related tasks as assigned. Use RF scanners or similar equipment to assist with inventory control and tracking of materials. Rotate through multiple departments in the warehouse and adapt to slightly varying tasks from day to day. Lift and move items up to approximately 40 lbs regularly throughout the workday while maintaining safe lifting practices. Stand and remain on your feet for an 8-hour shift while performing manual and computer-based tasks. Follow written directions, work instructions, and safety procedures consistently and accurately. Collaborate with team members in a highly team-oriented environment to meet production and quality goals. Maintain strong attention to detail while sorting materials to ensure accurate categorization and handling. Use and wear required personal protective equipment, including steel toe or composite boots, while working on site. Essential Skills 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred. Demonstrated computer literacy with the ability to perform data entry and use Microsoft Excel. Ability to follow written directions and work instructions accurately. Ability to stand and work on your feet for an 8-hour shift. Ability to use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and hammers safely and effectively. Capability to lift and handle items up to approximately 40 lbs regularly throughout the day. Strong attention to detail, especially when sorting materials and handling inventory. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with others. Availability to work a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Steel toe or composite boots required from the first day on site. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with warehouse tasks such as packing, picking, material handling, unloading, and inventory control. Familiarity with RF scanners or similar inventory tracking devices. Interest in warehousing, IT, or data center operations and equipment. Comfort working with electronic components, computer racks, servers, and related hardware. Willingness to cross-train and work in multiple departments within the warehouse. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a warehouse facility focused on processing computer equipment, including old computers, racks, servers, and related electronics, which are either wiped and resold or destroyed for metal recovery. The warehouse is very clean and air conditioned, providing a comfortable working environment. Team members rotate through different departments and are cross-trained in multiple functions, creating variety in day-to-day tasks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Work involves standing for an entire 8-hour shift, regularly lifting up to approximately 40 lbs, and using hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and hammers. Computer work includes data entry in a proprietary internal system and Microsoft Excel, and may involve the use of RF scanners for inventory tracking. The environment is highly teamwork-oriented, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail when sorting materials. Steel toe or composite boots are required while working on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Front Royal, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
