Job Description

TOPS Staffing is hiring a Material Handler for a manufacturing company located in Petersburg, VA.
Shift & Schedule:
Daylight shift Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. OT is available pretty regularly.
Pay:
Starting at $19 per hour, while with TOPS Staffing (3 months) Once hired by client: Enter into a profit-sharing program, which averages paying out around $1,000 to $1,500 per month based on how busy the facility is.
Job Overview:
Join a growing team helping to load and unload steel products in a brand-new facility. If you enjoy working with heavy equipment and have a knack for rigging and operating cranes and forklifts, this is your chance to get in on an exciting opportunity with room to grow. Key Responsibilities Unloading steel plates, beams, and pipes off flatbed trucks. Loading finished steel products onto trailers safely and efficiently. Operating a 33,000 lbs forklift and overhead crane with remote control or belly box. Rigging metal parts to ensure safe lifting and moving. Using blocking to secure loads when loading trucks. Moving around the warehouse consistently, climbing on and off flatbeds as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 1+ year of warehouse experience preferred. Experience with overhead crane operation and forklift handling. Ability to rig, bend, crawl, kneel, and climb regularly. Basic understanding of handling large steel materials. Strong physical stamina and safety awareness. Physical & Work Environment Standing for prolonged periods and walking in a large warehouse. Climbing on/off flatbeds with step ladders. Bending, crawling, and kneeling while rigging loads. Working around heavy, large-scale steel components. Constant movement and coordination with crane operations.
