Job Title:
Warehouse Associate Job Description As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for managing inbound freight, maintaining inventory integrity, fulfilling outbound orders, and supporting team leadership and execution. Your role will also involve operating warehouse equipment safely and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities Receive inbound freight accurately, ensuring every line and count are correct. Identify and document shortages, overages, and damaged goods before they enter inventory. Stage, label, and put away products correctly to support fill rate and order accuracy. Coordinate inbound activity with purchasing and sales when exceptions arise. Conduct daily cycle counts and contribute to periodic physical inventory efforts. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly. Flag recurring discrepancy patterns to leadership for root cause review. Pull, stage, and verify outbound orders before they leave the building. Ensure shipping documentation is complete and accurate on every outbound shipment. Coordinate with dispatch and counter teams for time-sensitive or priority orders. Prepare will-call orders before the customer arrives. Set the tone for pace, accuracy standards, and safety expectations for the warehouse crew. Delegate daily tasks clearly and follow up to confirm completion. Support onboarding and on-the-floor training for new warehouse team members. Escalate performance or conduct concerns to the Warehouse Manager promptly. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment safely and in compliance with standards. Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse floor, addressing hazards and protecting products. Support safety compliance at the team level. Identify inefficiencies, recurring errors, or workflow friction and report them to the Warehouse Manager. Recommend and test process changes to improve accuracy, speed, or team capacity. Cross-train on adjacent functions to increase team flexibility. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks. Experience with RF scanners and order picking. Strong inventory management skills. Ability to load and unload efficiently. Additional Skills & Qualifications Capability to surface and implement process improvements. Ability to maintain organized bin locations and resolve inventory discrepancies. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petersburg, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
