Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the facility. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment, utilizing warehouse management systems, and ensuring safety compliance will support our operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and a proactive approach to materials handling to contribute to seamless shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Duties Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to ensure safe and efficient handling. Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems accurately for order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks. Pick, pack, and prepare orders with precision, including picker operations for efficient order fulfillment. Maintain organization within the warehouse by properly stacking and storing materials to optimize space utilization. Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety standards to prevent injuries. Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock replenishment to ensure accurate stock levels. Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing deliveries. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and coordinate repairs when necessary. Operate heavy equipment such as cranes and clamp trucks for specialized material handling tasks. Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to maintain a safe working environment. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, material handling, or related roles within a warehouse setting. Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control. Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse operations. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures and load/unload operations. Knowledge of construction or heavy industry environments is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks. Previous experience in warehouse supervisor roles or overseeing warehouse operations is advantageous. #
