All individuals able to and willing to become members of the Vermont Nional Guard Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is to manage fuel on behalf of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) which consists of operions and maintenance of a fuel distribution system th includes a fuels laborory, cryogenic storage, bulk storage, base service stion, fuels informion service center, mobile fueling operions and the financial account management for missile propellants, aviion fuels, ground fuels and cryogenics utilized in support of aircraft, motor vehicles, engine test cells, powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), generors and heing systems required to support the Wing mission and transient aircraft. 1. Organizes, administers and evalues a segment of the fuels quality assurance program for the organizion. Ensures responsibilities for product compliance inspections of all petroleum activities. Draws fuel samples for frequencies and exact testing following procedures listed in approprie technical orders. Determines stus and adequacy of actions taken on prior inspection items and prepares accure reports for management use. Conducts stistical surveys of petroleum products in areas where trouble had been encountered. Analyzes defect da, isoles trends and recommends corrective action. Investiges problem areas, identifies causes, recommends and takes corrective follow-up action. Verifies quality through the applicion of audit and investigive methods to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Advises responsible supervisors on quality problems and required corrective action. Provides technical assistance to personnel in assigned organizion in order to improve quality and enhance safety of equipment and workers using products. Prepares local opering procedures based on supplements, regulions, and manuals of higher echelons in the area of quality assurance. Assists in managing fiscal resources for support of the quality assurance program. Conducts laborory analysis to determine th physical and chemical properties of products are within specificion use limits. Operes precision measuring instruments and analytical equipment designed to measure the effectiveness of mechanical systems and petroleum handling hardware. Tests various petroleum, cryogenic samples for total solids and microscopic analysis. Extracts samples from selected source throughout the base and submits to area laborory for pollution control and correlion testing. Samples are recorded in the Air Force Test and Analysis Tool (AFTAT). Uses technical publicions, bulleting, specificions and standards. Must conduct surveillance inspections during operions of components in pump house and tank farms during receipt, transfer, sampling and issue of petroleum products. Recommends objectives and acts as an advisor on well defined, non-controversial fuels projects to ensure continuous refinement of the quality program in response to test results, processing problems or objective quality evidence. Responsible for maintaining the Quality Control module in the Fuels Automed System Fuels Manager Defense (FMD) dabase. Documents all sampling, sample due des and the stus of all equipment in the FMD. Builds and maintains test sets in the Quality Control Module of FMD. 2. Directs, inspects, operes, and maintains a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer, and issue both aviion and ground fuels. Operes petroleum products distribution equipment by initiing and controlling the movement and storage of supplies throughout complete pipeline or tank farm systems, using telephone communicions, signal systems, a central control board, or similar facilities. Inspects systems for leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and inoperive components such as distribution lines, storage tanks, hydrant pits/outlets, oil/wer separor, pumps, automic/manual valves, meters, and system control rooms. 3. Operes one or more types of special purpose design aviion and ground fuel tank truck vehicles having a capacity of up to 6,000 gallons and gross vehicle weight of 70,000 pounds used for fueling/defueling various types of aircraft and ground fuels applicions such as AGE, power production, heing, and engine test cells.

This is a Title 32 excepted service position th requires membership in the Vermont Air Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Rank individually addressed upon selection up to TSgt/E6 Work involves working in one or more workstions of a fuel distribution system, or opering a complete system, to receive, store, transfer and issue petroleum and other products such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and anhydrous ammonia.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience or training which demonstres the ability to follow instructions and to safely opere the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE WG-09
Must have least 18 months Experience or training opering, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and overhauling fuel systems and components. Experience or training initiing and controlling the movement and storage of fuel supplies by opering high pressure systems with a series of terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of internal pipelines. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candides' experience should be evalued based on duties performed rher than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
