Warehouse Operator 4 (WO4) Full Time | Permanent Airway Heights Corrections Center (AHCC), Airway Heights, WA Correctional Industries (CI) within the Department of Corrections (DOC ) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a full time, permanent Warehouse Operator 4 (WO4) position. This position is located at Airway Heights Corrections Center in Airway Heights, WA. This position typically works Monday through Friday. The candidate of choice must be comfortable working in a Prison environment as you will be required to work in facility daily. This position supports that object by directing, managing, and supervising warehousing operations for products produced in Class II production shops. In addition, receives, stores, schedules, and ships to customers statewide. Duties Include, but are not limited to: Day to
Day Warehouse Management:
Supervise and monitor subordinate employees and incarcerated individual workforce in methods, procedures and controls in order to evaluate and develop efficient work practices. This position is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining Standard Operation Procedures for warehouse operations. Supervise the daily assignment of warehouse personnel and equipment to different warehousing activities. Supervise, instruct and evaluate subordinates and incarcerated individuals in warehousing activities. Assist in hiring warehouse staff. Report staff misconduct to appropriate chain of command. Establish daily schedules for employees. Assist in analyzing available storage areas in order to estimate and allocate warehouse space according to size, shape, weight, and type of merchandise being stored. Supervise staff and incarcerated individual workers in the daily tasks associated with receiving, shipping and storage of raw materials, finished goods and materials at the Correctional Industries AHCC Food and CI warehouse. Supervise incoming food inspection processes. Implementing and maintaining methods of measuring and reporting the warehouse accomplishments and key indicators. Supervise requisitioning, receipt, storage and distribution of goods and services needed for warehouse operations. Responsible for inventory storage management of raw material and finished good requirements at three separate physical locations and distribution requirements to support manufacturing and customer sales.
Inventory Management:
Supervise, participate and monitor subordinate employees and incarcerated individual workforce in recording of inventory and location information in a current data tracking database(s) Supervise subordinate employees and incarcerated individual in completing annual consumable and/or fixed asset inventory. Supervise subordinate employees and incarcerated individual in conducting cycle counts, reconcile in the appropriate areas. Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate resolution.
Maintain Safety:
Supervise, instruct, correct and evaluate incarcerated individual workers according to Department of Corrections and Correctional Industries' Policies and Procedures. Ensure Tool control and Key control procedures are followed to ensure safety in the workplace and the institution. Ensures all training for subordinates and incarcerated individual on all equipment related to the warehouse (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks). Monitors incarcerated individual behavior and provides feedback to incarcerated individual about their work performance and behavior.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or GED Certificate and physical ability to do the required work of the position. Four years progressive clerical or technical experience in a warehousing operation. Three years of supervisory or lead responsibility. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft office. Ability to lift and move 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years progressive clerical or technical experience in a warehouse operation. 4 years of supervisory or lead worker responsibility. Working knowledge of Lean Methodologies. Experience in training others. Experience working with inmates or in a correctional facility. Knowledge of inventory systems. - Intermediate experience and knowledge. Possess a valid WA state driver's license.
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Complete a felony disclosure form prior to employment and submit to a criminal background check. Successfully complete, within mandated timeframes, employee orientation and all other mandatory annual, in-service and other required training. Provide physical residential address and home telephone number to the Department of Corrections. Become familiar and comply with all Department policies and procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements as applicable. Submit to drug testing in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and agency policy. Currently possess a forklift certification or obtain within 3 months of hire. Ability to lift and move 40 pounds. Must successfully complete CORE training. This position is included in a union shop that requires employees to become dues/fee paying members of the labor union within thirty (30) days of employment.

Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time.
