DUTIES INCLUDE

Assess manufacturing planning & take direction from weld-shop lead for welding requirements, procedures, & processes to correctly complete job. Fit-Up & weld various mild-steel, alloy, stainless, & aluminum components, from one-offs to production runs. Make or repair various tooling items for use in both weld-shop, & in machine shop. Work under lead to maintain clean & organized weld-shop consumables & equipment. Maintain a full-time work schedule with consistent hours. At times, operate a forklift to load , unload, & position parts & materials, load & drive a delivery truck, and under direction, operate an engine lathe, broach keyways in a press, operate a small knee mill, deburr and/or handwork parts, operate various hand tools & fulfill other general needs around the shop.

SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb on & around the work, step-ladders, etc.. Strong people-skills, with the ability & desire to interact agreeably with your lead, senior shop personnel, & management. The ability to re-prioritize & multi-task in order that the most important item is receiving the most attention. This will include personal interaction with your lead & management & requires personal flexibility in a busy, fast-paced, & constantly changing environment. Attention to detail & very organized. The desire to take direction & implement ways to continuously improve methods, processes, speed, efficiency, & organization. The willingness & desire to follow procedures & instructions, but also the ability to be creative & self-motivated in the absence of immediate, ongoing supervision or existing procedures. The ability & desire to work overtime when asked. The eager ability & willingness to multi-task to receive training on other equipment in the shop & to do non-welding tasks. Must already have or be willing to acquire personal items such as welding hood, gloves, jacket, and typical welding-related protective gear & some minimal measuring equipment for shop use.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED. A minimum of 18 months experience in a shop environment with some welding experience. WABO certification and/or tech school cert a major plus. Applicant's welding experience should be weighted toward mild steel & alloys & both preferably both

TIG & MIG.

Experience with different alloy materials, weld-wire/rod, shielding gas, & pre/post heating knowledge for each type of application definitely a plus. Must be able to accurately interpret blueprints. Experience on various types of machine-shop equipment is a big plus, but not a total requirement.

Pay:

$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
