Job Title:
Genral Laborer Job Description The Environmental Technician safely consolidates, treats, stores, packs, transports, and disposes of hazardous waste in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations, company policies, and customer procedures. This role supports industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment, spill response, and general facility services while maintaining detailed, accurate records and documentation. Responsibilities Consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in a safe and compliant manner. Perform industrial cleaning tasks, including pressure washing and general site cleanup, in industrial and facility environments. Support wastewater treatment operations as directed, following established processes and safety protocols. Respond to spills and other environmental incidents in a timely and professional manner, using appropriate equipment and procedures. Provide facility services such as yard work, general labor, and site housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area. Complete all required documentation accurately, legibly, and on time in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures. Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently, following all training and safety guidelines. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and follow all health and safety rules. Work outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments as needed. Perform other reasonably related tasks and duties as assigned by management to support operations and customer needs. Essential Skills At least 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Experience performing general labor and site cleanup in an industrial, environmental, or similar setting. Ability and comfort operating equipment safely in an industrial or field environment. Ability to follow detailed procedures for hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal. Visual acuity to read labels, signs, and documentation accurately, including hazardous materials labels. Depth perception sufficient to work safely around vehicles, equipment, and uneven surfaces. Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment. Willingness and physical ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions. Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator, for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Hazwoper training or certification is a strong plus. Prior experience in the environmental field, including spill response, wastewater treatment, or hazardous waste handling, is highly beneficial. Comfort working in a yard or field environment performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and extended standing or walking. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate completion of regulatory and customer documentation. Reliability and willingness to work assigned shifts, including potential future evening or night shifts. Motivation to learn and grow within the environmental services industry, with interest in career progression into advanced operational roles. Work Environment This role is primarily outdoors in the seasonal elements, and you will work in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. You will also work indoors in industrial and facility environments that may be non-climate-controlled. The position involves hands-on work around industrial equipment, vehicles, and hazardous materials, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. The current schedule is approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of shifting to 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and eventually to a night shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Personal protective equipment is provided and required, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr.
