Job Description
Position Summary Avrio Surfaces is seeking a hardworking and dependable Yard Helper / General Laborer to support our stone fabrication facility. This position is responsible for safely receiving, moving, organizing, and maintaining stone slabs, assisting production teams, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the yard and warehouse remain clean, organized, and safe. This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and commitment to workplace safety. Primary Responsibilities Material Handling Load and unload stone slabs, crates, and materials. Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying materials. Safely move slabs using forklifts, overhead cranes, vacuum lifters, and slab clamps. Stage materials for fabrication and installation teams. Assist with inventory counts and material tracking. Yard Organization Maintain organized slab inventory by color, supplier, and project. Label and track remnants. Keep yard, warehouse, and slab storage areas clean and safe. Ensure aisles and forklift paths remain clear. Production Support Assist sawyers, CNC operators, fabricators, and polishers as needed. Clean fabricated pieces and prepare materials for delivery. Assist with packaging and crating finished products. Operate basic shop equipment after training. Safety & Maintenance Follow all company safety procedures. Conduct daily forklift inspections. Report damaged materials, equipment issues, and safety concerns. Participate in safety meetings and training. QualificationsRequired Ability to lift 75+ lbs repeatedly. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Reliable transportation. Strong attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. Preferred Forklift experience. Construction, warehouse, stone fabrication, or manufacturing experience. Experience handling heavy materials. Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely. Working around machinery and heavy equipment. Schedule Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM One-hour unpaid lunch Overtime available as required Career Path Yard Helper → Fabrication Apprentice → Fabricator / CNC Operator → Shop Lead This role is an excellent entry point into the stone fabrication industry, with opportunities to advance into fabrication, CNC operations, installation, or production leadership.
