Job Description

AFCO Distribution & Milling Receiving Associate Spokane Valley, WA AFCO Distribution & Milling, based in Spokane Valley, WA, has been supporting farms and feed stores across the Northwest for the last 90 years. We are proud to be part of Skagit Farmers Supply, an agricultural cooperative established in 1934 in Washington's Skagit Valley. We are guided by a board of directors comprising five local farmers, who are deeply rooted in the community and committed to agriculture. Skagit Farmers Supply's operations include retail Country Stores, fuel services, agronomy, propane delivery, and AFCO's distribution and milling operations. We distribute quality products to feed and pet supply retailers across the Northwest, ensuring that farms and pets thrive.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify all incoming freight on receiving documents and packing slips as well as checking freight against purchase orders. This includes freight from outside vendors as well as freight from other departments. Assist customers with will-call orders; working with the customer service representatives to ensure accurate and timely loading of product. Collect freight from being sold, only releasing it once it has been received in accordance with proper procedures. Report receiving or invoice discrepancies to the personnel responsible for the order and assist in resolving these discrepancies. Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts and bring them to management's attention. Work with inventory control supervisor to maintain inventories and resolve variances. Participate in monthly staff meetings. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds. Proven track record of being dependable and reliable. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and demeanor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a warehouse setting, or understanding of shipping/receiving processes Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies Experience with Microsoft Excel, Epicor or similar retail POS software Experience using RF (radio frequency) scanning technology and equipment
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Spokane Valley, WA (40 hours per week). Multiple shifts are available, with start times ranging between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed.

This position is performed in person at AFCO Distribution, 11016 E. Montgomery Dr. Suite 101 Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
