Job Description

Material Handler - Food ProductionA Material Handler in a food production facility is responsible for moving raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products throughout the production process. This position ensures production lines remain stocked, inventory is organized, and products are transported safely while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply production lines with raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials as needed. Transport finished products to designated storage or shipping areas. Load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers safely and efficiently. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (when certified). Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of material shortages. Accurately complete inventory and production documentation. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment. Assist with product changeovers, line cleanups, and other production-related tasks. Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
Previous warehouse, forklift, or material handling experience preferred. Ability to safely lift, move, and stack materials up to 50 pounds. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic math and inventory tracking skills. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Forklift certification preferred but not required (training may be provided).
Work Environment:
Food production facility with exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
