Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The material handler position plays a central role on a data center construction site by managing how materials are delivered, stored, moved, and used, ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time. This position focuses on unloading and moving construction materials, organizing them in designated areas, and working closely with onsite electricians to make sure they have the supplies needed to complete their work efficiently. Responsibilities Unload construction materials and electrical supply equipment safely and efficiently upon delivery to the job site. Transport materials and equipment to designated areas across the construction site using appropriate material handling methods. Organize, label, and maintain orderly storage areas so materials are easy to locate and access. Work closely with electricians to ensure they have the correct materials and supplies at the right time and location. Coordinate material movement to support daily construction activities and project schedules. Communicate clearly with onsite leadership, tradespeople, and other team members regarding material needs, shortages, and delivery status. Support general labor tasks related to logistics and material handling as needed on the construction site. Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent project progress. Adapt to changing priorities on the job site and assist with logistical adjustments as project needs evolve. Essential Skills 2+ years of consistent work history demonstrating reliability and strong attendance. Experience with logistics, general labor, and material handling in a construction or similar environment. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to unload and move electrical supply equipment and other construction materials to designated areas on a job site. Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with others onsite and communicate effectively with leadership. Comfort working on active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting large construction projects or data center projects is a plus. Familiarity with construction site logistics and coordination is beneficial. Ability to move from project to project within the state as assignments change. Willingness to complete and pass required assessments such as a drug test and lift test. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based on an active construction job site at a data center project, working both outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a strong focus on safety and collaboration. Typical hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling about 40-50 hours per week, with start times subject to change based on project needs. You will work alongside onsite leads and a broader logistics and construction team. The dress code requires steel-toe boots and durable work pants appropriate for a construction site. The client provides key personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility gear. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Beaver Dam, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
