Job Description

Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description This general labor position supports production operations by loading and unloading parts at presses, furnaces, and deburring units, packaging parts according to specifications, and performing basic inspection tasks. You rotate through multiple areas within the facility, gaining exposure to different departments, processes, and job duties while working with metal parts in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Load and unload metal parts at presses, furnaces, and deburring units in a safe and efficient manner. Package parts according to established specifications and production requirements. Work in three different production areas, adapting to varying tasks and procedures across departments. Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 35 pounds throughout the shift. Use a computer to enter numbers and basic production or quality data accurately. Perform simple math to verify counts, measurements, and production totals. Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and plug gauges to check part dimensions. Inspect parts for height, dimensional accuracy, and overall visual quality, identifying obvious defects. Follow all safety guidelines when working near furnaces and other production equipment, including heat-related precautions. Maintain a clean and organized work area in a loud and dirty manufacturing environment. Follow established work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules. Communicate with team members and leads regarding issues, defects, or equipment concerns as they arise. Meet attendance and performance expectations in line with company policies and programs. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing or general production experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience with inspection of metal parts is a plus. Familiarity with basic machine operation in a manufacturing setting is beneficial. Comfort rotating between multiple departments and learning new tasks. Interest in developing skills that can lead to machinist, lead, or supervisory roles over time. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. 4:00pm-2:00am, Monday-Thursday 3rd: 8:00pm-6:00am, Sunday-Wednesday Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beloit, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
