Job Description

Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for safely handling, loading, delivering, and organizing building materials to support yard operations and customer deliveries. This role operates company vehicles and equipment and is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety standards, and a drug
  • and alcohol-free workplace policy. Both CDL and non-CDL Material Handlers play a critical role in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely delivery of materials. Key Accountabilities Material Handling & Yard Operations
  • Load, unload, stage, and organize building materials Ensure materials are handled safely and protected from damage
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse areas Delivery & Driving Responsibilities
  • Operate company vehicles safely for deliveries and transfers
  • Follow assigned delivery routes, schedules, and procedures
  • Ensure accurate delivery of materials to customers and job sites Receiving & Inventory Support
  • Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against documentation
  • Report damages, shortages, or discrepancies promptly Support accurate material flow and inventory integrity
  • All Material Handlers are expected to assist with receiving duties as needed, particularly when the primary receiver is unavailable, to ensure continuity of operations. DOT & Safety Compliance
  • Comply with all DOT regulations, company driving policies, and safety standards
  • Participate in required drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Maintain a drug
  • and alcohol-free work environment at all times
  • Complete required inspections, logs, and documentation Equipment & Vehicle Care
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents immediately
  • Operate forklifts and equipment only as trained and authorized Communication & Professionalism
  • Communicate delivery status, issues, or delays to leadership
  • Coordinate with yard, sales, and operations teams
  • Represent ProEdge professionally at customer and job sites Authority & Decision-Making
  • Authority to perform deliveries and material handling within established guidelines
  • Authority to stop work and report unsafe conditions
  • Ability to escalate safety, DOT, or operational concerns Daily Focus = Safe, Accurate Movement
  • Perform pre-trip or equipment inspections
  • Load/unload materials safely
  • Make deliveries accurately and on time
  • Assist with receiving when needed
  • Maintain clean yard, trucks, and equipment Core Competencies Safety Awareness Reliability Equipment Operation Teamwork Attention to Detail Time Management Work Requirements Regular outdoor and warehouse work.

7am-5:00pm hours are subject to change with short notice due to business conditions. Ability to lift materials, operate equipment, and drive company vehicles. CDL holders must maintain valid licensure and medical certification. DOT & Drug-Free Workplace Notice All Material Handlers — including non-CDL employees operating company vehicles — are subject to company DOT-related safety policies, including drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with federal regulations and company standards.
