# of Openings 1 State WI City Fond du Lac ZIP Code 54935 Shift First Overview The Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and managing materials and products within the production facility. This position involves loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support production processes. Responsibilities Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements. Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control's request. Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary. Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support. Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods. Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions. Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts. When assigned, assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring. Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems. Follows all safety procedures, wears proper PPE. Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions. Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement. Proposes changes to Materials Manager. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Job Skills Requirements Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Basic math and computer skills. Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Requirements One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred. Forklift Certification and Overhead Crane a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment Some physical demand, often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material. Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8 hours). Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8 hours). Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8 hours). May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8 hours).Similar remote jobs
