The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate, safe, efficient and timely moving, locating and distributing of incoming, work in progress and finished materials throughout the inventory lifecycle in accordance with all standards, processes and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Maintains efficient and on-schedule flow of material to or from any or all of the following areas: Receiving, Saw, Gates and Enclosures, Sheer, Paint, Crating and Delivery, Final Assembly, Cartveyor. Reviews work orders daily and identifies the material needed, locating and moving the right type and quantity of material in a timely and efficient manner and communicating with team members in the pick up or delivery area. Accesses, reads and understands prints for manufactured products or parts and compares for accuracy. Performs First Piece Inspection and verifications to ensure measurements are correct and product made to print. Gathers and stages materials for manufacturing teams to keep process running. Labels all jobs and be sure to make the Job Order #, Customer, and Ship Date as large as possible for ease of identification. Delivers completed jobs and/or components to Final Assembly area according to ship schedule. Conducts daily 5S Audits for the area to ensure all improvements are in progress and sustained. Keeps Shadow Boards active and supplied with identified tools. Communicates with other material handlers to coordinate activities. Communicates with supervision hourly and provides updates on job status in relation to daily on-time delivery. Manages the Visual Management (color indicators) of the Job Orders with the appropriate color-coding scheme in order to keep track of the job as it progresses through the factory. Unloads and stores incoming materials and organizes for accurate identification. Utilizes ERP system for entering inventory transactions and Engineering Drawing verification to insure the most up to date drawing is used for the Job Order. Ensures that the job packet is complete and verified before the job is begun. Acts as the 5S champion for the area and maintain to PFlow 5S standards for the operators at the workstations to avoid the transportation and motion. Performs daily forklift safety checks and maintains all required paperwork, records and documentation. Recommends upgrades, repair or replacement of equipment to ensure consistent and reliable operation. Works safely and follows all company safety rules. Maintains good attendance and is on time and at work every scheduled day to ensure business demands are met. Requires 1 year of material handler experience in a fast-paced, team environment preferably from a manufacturing business. Requires basic mechanical assembly knowledge and the ability to read blueprints and tape measures. Requires the ability to learn to use hand tools and power tools safely. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, a high degree to detail orientation and a high degree of accuracy. Requires the ability to learn and understand the Pflow product line, the interactions between product components and the metal fabrication and assembly process. Requires the ability to complete forklift training, to safely operation different types of forklifts and to maintain the forklift certification. Requires good communication skills and the ability to communicate across all departments in English. Requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Requires the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines while producing accurate and strong attention to detail work. Requires the development of computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Requires the development of proficiency in ERP systems and a working knowledge of Epicor M2K. Requires the ability to use basic office equipment: fax, voicemail, copier, calculator, etc. Requires excellent research, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills and the ability and desire to participate in the development and implementation of practical solutions.
