Job Title:
Material Handler II Job Description The Material Handler II safely receives, picks, packages, and ships products in a fast-paced distribution center, while operating warehouse equipment and maintaining accurate inventory records. Responsibilities Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and product information against documentation. Pick products from designated storage locations according to work orders and shipment requirements. Package products securely and accurately to prepare them for shipment. Load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift in a safe and efficient manner. Operate warehouse equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. Maintain inventory accuracy by properly recording material movements in the inventory control system. Stage, organize, and move materials within the warehouse to support production and shipping schedules. Inspect materials and report any damage, discrepancies, or quality issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow all safety policies, including proper lifting techniques when handling items up to 40 lbs. Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. 2 to 3 years of sit-down forklift experience, including loading and unloading trucks. Experience using an inventory control system to track and manage materials. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution center environment. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in picking, packing, and shipping. Commitment to following safety procedures and operational guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in material handling within a warehouse or distribution center. Comfort operating various types of warehouse equipment as needed. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Reliable attendance and the ability to work scheduled shift hours. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a distribution center environment on 2nd shift, Monday through the scheduled workweek. The setting is fast-paced and active, involving frequent movement, material handling, and operation of sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment. The position requires regular lifting of up to 40 lbs and adherence to safety procedures at all times. Work is primarily performed on the warehouse floor, where employees typically wear practical work attire suitable for operating equipment and handling materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
