Job Description

Metko, Inc., a local leader and family-owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry is seeking to directly hire a full-time Warehouse Associate/Material Handler for a 1st shift opening in its New Holstein, WI, facility. 1st shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. •

ARE ONLY LOOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH PREVIOUS WAREHOUSE-RELATED AND FORKLIFT/MATERIAL HANDLING EXPERIENCE.
ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS A STABLE WORK HISTORY, A PROVEN WORK ATTENDANCE RECORD, AND GOOD PHYSICAL DEXTERITY.
Starting pay will be commensurate with experience.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Operate a sit-down forklift and work in a manufacturing-related environment.
  • Become company-certified in forklift operations.
  • Pull and count parts for welding department and organize them on skids.
  • Pull, count and stage raw materials for laser and punch press operators.
  • Transport parts/raw materials/skids within the facility.
  • Work closely with inventory control department to report any parts remaining once jobs are completed.
  • Count, inspect and tag parts while maintaining accurate bin locations.
  • Work with a computerized inventory system to track and monitor inventory levels.
  • On an as-needed basis, inspect incoming raw material shipments to ensure sheet metal is free from defects and organize incoming materials in a systematic fashion.
  • On an as-needed basis, perform back up role for shipping department personnel as well as other assigned duties in our production department (i.
e., drilling, tapping, grinding, and basic machine operation).
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • 1+ year of previous Forklift operation experience on a sit-down forklift is required.
  • Prior certification in Forklift operations is a plus.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience is highly desired.
  • Prior parts or materials inspection experience is also highly desired.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Computer literacy is required. Prior experience with computerized inventory systems is also a plus.
  • Must have the ability to do heavy lifting on an as-needed basis.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess initiative.
