Job Description

Shift:
Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:00PM. No nights or weekends!
Summary:
Responsible for loading, cleaning, painting, curing, final inspection, unloading, and packaging and delivery of finished painted products to the customer by using Applied Laser Technologies paint specifications along with the correct components and parts necessary to produce the product. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to reading and interpreting blueprints, positions, parts, and ensuring the correct fit by performing repairs as needed and reporting errors in the manufacturing line by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Sets up work area for efficient processing and maximum output of jobs.
  • 2. Ensures a high level of proficiency across all operations within a focused team environment.
  • 3. Processes product through the powder coating paint system(s) including loading, unloading, cleaning, painting, curing, and packaging operations quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • 4. Ensures parts are quickly processed, counted, stacked, and/or packaged in the best possible fashion for the following operation.
  • 5. Identifies visual and dimensional defects and ensures that potential problems are effectively communicated to department lead or supervisor.
  • 6. Maintains awareness of estimated production standard processing times and alerts supervisor when time is unachievable.
  • 7. Ensures that parts are correct according to the print and/or traveler and paint quality specifications.
  • 8. Monitors machine operation and quality of parts and makes machine adjustments as necessary.
  • 9. Operates all required inspection equipment and tools to measure and document quality data for each part or batch.
  • 10. Reads, understands, and implements all information and instructions included on job travelers, technical drawings, production control plans, and verbal instructions.
  • 11. Ensures the proper completion of all manufacturing and inspection documentation as required by company policies.
  • 12. Packages completed parts quickly and in a way that ensures minimum damage during transit.
  • 13. Ensures that parts are quickly delivered to the following operation or shipping as required.
  • 14. Contributes strongly and consistently on a daily basis to the paint team to ensure consistent product and cooperative communication.
  • 15. Identifies and/or cooperates with potential opportunities for efficiency/productivity increases and cost reduction strategies.

Ensures absolute compliance with safety and personal protective equipment requirements for both yourself and others in the department. 17. Maintains a clean, organized work area.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
  • To perform this job correctly, and individual must have the ability to see color, and identify that the colors being painted match the color specified verbally or by instructional documents.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
