About the
Role:
The Dock Worker plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain process, ensuring that parts are efficiently loaded and unloaded from trucks and delivery vehicles. This position is responsible for maintaining the flow of parts in and out of the warehouse, which directly impacts the company's ability to meet customer demands. The Dock Worker will work closely with team members to ensure that all shipments are accurately processed, safely packaged to prevent damage, and that inventory levels are maintained. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent accidents and ensure the integrity of the parts being handled. Ultimately, the Dock Worker contributes to the overall success of the organization by facilitating timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks. Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment. Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment. Knowledge of inventory management systems.Responsibilities:
Load and unload parts from trucks and delivery vehicles, sometimes utilizing forklifts and other equipment. Packaging parts with appropriate materials or in appropriate format on trucks to prevent damage. Inspect parts/loads for accuracy and damage, reporting any discrepancies. Organize and maintain the shipping dock area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely processing of orders and inventory management. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while performing all tasks.Skills:
The required skills for this position include physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which are essential for loading and unloading shipments efficiently. Attention to detail is critical, as the Dock Worker must accurately inspect shipments and maintain inventory records.
