Job Description
Solid Waste Supervisor #
Tell me more…..The City of Peoria is searching for an energetic, self-driven leader to join the Solid Waste Division. This position will have direct contact with division staff, as well as City staff across multiple departments and divisions. This person will also communicate with residents, schools, and other municipalities and businesses. The purpose of this position is to supervise and direct solid waste employees, activities, and programs, including the recycling program.
Duties include but are not limited to: Investigating and responding to complaints regarding solid waste collectionInspecting equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance.
Supervising a citywide solid waste program.
Completing written and oral progress reports.
Carrying out contracts, leases, and intergovernmental agreements related to solid waste hauling and disposal.
Organize efforts to provide customer service to internal and external customers, as well as the citizens of the City of Peoria.
The ideal candidate for this position will have: Experience in a municipal or government setting.
Previous supervisory experience.
Valid AZ Class "A" Commercial Driver License (preferred).Hazardous Waste Handling Certification.
