Job Description
The National Western Center (NWC) is a reimagined 250-acre campus in Denver, Colorado with a vision to be the global destination for food and agricultural discovery. It is the new home of the National Western Stock Show and Colorado State University's Spur campus. But the future National Western Center isn't just new buildings. It's a destination unto itself. It's a mission-oriented place that will be lively and active all year round — with new events and experiences around every corner.
The opportunity:
NWC is in search of a Campus Green Team- Waste Collection & Diversion Tech that can be ready on day one to jump in on multiple fronts.
What you will do:
Operating collection and diversion equipment and doing routine and daily maintenance checks and repairs. Daily pick up of sites around campus, this requires using equipment for waste collection and may require physical lifting and movement from waste collection. Will work in the HUB building where the NWC diversion program is managed, diverting by using equipment and physical sorting and movement of waste for collections by the vendors. NWC waste diversion program has many diversion needs and start at point of use to HUB, those will all be audited and managed making sure there is efficiency built into the process. Coordinating and working with the Sustainability Manager to coordinate and optimize routes and schedules for maximum efficiency. Adhere and comply to safety regulation and other governing agency regulations. Educate the public and partners on proper waste disposal practices. Will work with animal manures, wood chips, mulch, compost and down wood in processes.What you will bring along:
Strong passion for sustainability ethics and standards Understanding proper waste disposal methods, recycling processes, relevant regulations. Ability to resolve issues related to waste collection and effectively prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records. Equipment use and training. Experience in Arena, Convention, Stadium is helpful. This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, lifting, bending for long periods of time. Will need a current driver license and good driving record.
