Write, read, and speak Spanish Job Overview We are seeking a Recycling Coordinator to support recycling initiatives, environmental programming, and public outreach efforts within the Refuse/Landfill division. This role is responsible for coordinating community outreach, developing educational materials, supporting compliance programs, and assisting with environmental initiatives such as NPDES permitting. The Recycling Coordinator will engage with the public, respond to inquiries, organize events, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability and proper waste management practices. The position requires strong communication skills, analytical ability, and a proactive approach to program coordination. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience Requirements Minimum of six (6) years of combined education and experience in environmental programs, public outreach, communications, or a related field Experience conducting public outreach, presentations, or community engagement initiatives Experience researching, analyzing, and developing program materials, reports, or documentation Experience coordinating events, programs, or community initiatives Experience responding to customer or citizen inquiries and resolving concerns Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, or compliance programs Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Valid Florida driver's license Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Experience Preferences Experience with recycling programs, solid waste management, or sustainability initiatives Experience with NPDES permitting or environmental compliance programs Experience preparing grant applications, agreements, or bid documents Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulations Experience working in government or municipal operations Household Hazardous Waste Operator certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months Physical Requirements Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments Ability to stand, walk, and perform field-related activities as needed Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs Ability to operate equipment such as scales when required Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Education Preferences Bachelor's degree in a related field such as
