Job Description
General Purpose of the
Position :
Responsible for the operational and essential supervision duties of the recycling facility including but not limited to: electronics and paint recycling facility duties, drop-off and pick-up of electronic waste; materials separation and disposal; maintaining machinery in good working condition/repair; coordinating community cleanup days and other special recycling events; supervision and training of staff and volunteers; and performing other related duties.Supervisor's Title :

Recycling Specialists, Recycling Laborers, Recycling Volunteers. Essential Functions of theJob :
Responsible for picking up and delivering the electronic waste along scheduled routes. Responsible for maintenance of the truck in good working condition. Responsible to address and report problems or issues as determined in the field. Maintain equipment, tools and supplies in safe and efficient condition. Coordinate and operate the regional facility and all community cleanup events. Coordinate any special recycling or solid waste programs. Available to travel for work-related purposes throughout the service region. Attend relevant trainings/meetings as required and assigned. Provide supervision, direction, and training of assigned program staff for recycling operations, safe material handling and equipment use. Keep the Chief Executive Officer fully informed of schedules, activities, staffing needs and operational information. Assist with reporting and record-keeping requirements, including programmatic reporting and payroll tasks. Assist the Fiscal Department with preparation of customer billings in accordance with program requirements. Prepare, review and be accountable for department budget. All other related tasks assigned by supervisor.Physical Demands :
Must be available to perform the essential functions of the job whenever scheduled to work. Must be able to stand in a stationary position to operate warehouse machinery to process paint, electronics, and other recyclables. Must be able to move about to assist recycling center customers and to accept, sort, organize, and process recyclables. Must be able to pick up and hold recyclable items and other items brought into the recycling center, or received at pick up locations in the community. Must be able to communicate and converse effectively with recycling center customers, coworkers, and community partners to coordinate the acceptance, delivery, and processing of recycling center materials. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds to place electronics and other material onto the liftgate of the truck or to carry items into or about the warehouse. Must be able to drive and operate a commercial box truck with a liftgate. Must be able to operate a forklift, pallet jack, paint processing machine, and hand tools. Must be able to work with latex paint, oil-based paint, and other potentially caustic chemicals, using eye protection, gloves, and other safety precautions. Must be able to operate a computer to effectively to record and report recycling center data, perform payroll, training and other employment related tasks, and communicate with customers and community partners. Must be able to use a telephone to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and community partners.Protective Equipment :
Safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, closed-toe boots or sturdy shoes. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working as a laborer or supervisor in a warehouse or construction environment preferred.License or Certification Required :
