About the
Role:
The Disassembly position plays a crucial role in the durable goods manufacturing process by ensuring that products are efficiently and safely taken apart for recycling, refurbishment, or disposal. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a strong understanding of various materials and components used in durable goods. The end result of this role is to contribute to sustainability efforts by maximizing the recovery of valuable materials while minimizing waste. Additionally, the Disassembly team collaborates closely with other departments to ensure that the disassembly process aligns with production schedules and quality standards. Ultimately, this role supports the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with tools and machinery used in disassembly processes. Knowledge of materials and recycling practices. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Responsibilities:
Carefully disassemble products according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Sort and categorize components for recycling, reuse, or disposal. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency. Collaborate with team members to improve disassembly processes and reduce cycle times. Document disassembly activities and report any issues or discrepancies to management.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include attention to detail, which is essential for accurately disassembling products without damaging reusable components. Strong manual dexterity is necessary to handle various tools and materials safely and effectively.
