  • Full-time Wastewater Treatment Coordinator/ Town of Littleton New Hampshire The Town of Littleton New Hampshire is currently searching for a Wastewater Treatment Coordinator. This is an hourly, full
  • time position, fully benefited and under the current AFSCME Union agreement.
The Wastewater Treatment Coordinator's main duty will be to manage the Industrial Discharge Permit program. Working under the Director of Public Works, with business owners, consultants and contractors. The primary focus of the work will be around the collection system. Other duties will include but are not limited to:
Duties:
  • Assists the Public Works Director with new building sewer connections that includes reviewing applications, issuing trench permits, sewer inspections and construction related inspections.
  • The ability to read and interpret SUO (Sewer Use Ordinance) for understanding compliance requirements for all town sewer users.
  • Assists the Public Works Director with managing the Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) contained in the town's sewer use ordinance (SUO).
  • The ability to read and interpret IPP (Industrial Pretreatment Program) for understanding compliance requirements for industrial waste dischargers.
  • The ability to work well with the wide range of property owners, business owners, consultants, and contractors involved with IPP permitting.
  • Monitoring the levels of chemicals used in the wastewater treatment process
  • Will be exposed and assigned duties associated with project management and will be required to fill in on meetings associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the collection system.
  • The ability to hire, schedule and coordinate contractors. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions that pertain to all aspects of wastewater oversight and activities. Minimum qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required with a level of experience from on-the-job training.
  • An associate degree in a related field, such as environmental science or chemistry.
  • Must be able to attain a New Hampshire Wastewater Treatment Operators Certificate within three years of employment.
  • The ability to function independently in carrying out all assignments.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
  • High level of knowledge, ability and skill in using a computer for emails, report writing, GIS Data, spreadsheets, public works software for work orders.
Salary Range:
$25.00/ hour to $30.00/ hour based on experience and background.
