Prototype Fabrication (PF) is seeking a qualified Production Control Specialist 2 to join the division's Integrated Logistics & Asset Management (ILAM) group. PF Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory provides machining, fabrication and dimensional inspection of critical hardware needed to support the nation's stockpile stewardship efforts. Join our dedicated staff of engineers, machinists, dimensional inspectors, and other staff supporting multiple programs with manufactured components ranging in size through a wide variety of materials for a broad customer base. As a Production Control Specialist 2, you will be a working team leader supporting the effective management of inventory control processes across the entire division to enable efficient and compliant operations. The team has a broad range of inventory responsibilities to include receiving incoming raw stock material, identifying and ordering general shop supplies, stocking and managing an automated inventory control system, conducting cycle counts, aiding in the proper management of controlled storage locations, and managing chemical inventory. The team also supports general housekeeping, basic preventative maintenance, and other organization activities across eight machine shops spread across the LANL campus to maintain a safe, secure and organized work area. This position is primarily self-directed, partnering with other working leaders across the organization to effectively manage inventory for the division. The selected candidate will provide daily direction to a small team of staff that perform a broad range of tasks. This position has regular contact with group management and general staff.
