Job Description

Transportation Dispatcher / Route Coordinator - Waste Management Company Overview [Insert Company Name], a leading environmental and waste services provider in Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our operations team. We provide critical solid waste, recycling, and industrial services, acting as the daily hub of communication between our drivers, management, and valued customers.
Job Responsibilities Route Coordination:
Assign, schedule, and optimize daily routes for waste and recycling collection vehicles to maximize efficiency and control operational costs.
Driver Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers in the field, troubleshooting service delays, missed pick-ups, and equipment issues.
Compliance Management:
Ensure all drivers comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations , monitor hours of service (HOS), and verify daily DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports).
Issue Resolution:
Field incoming calls from Customer Service, manage service tickets, and dispatch trucks for same-day resolution.
Safety & Reporting:
Monitor route progress via GPS and telematics. Document incidents, breakdowns, and injuries while promoting a culture of safety.
Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience. Waste industry or CDL-related experience is highly preferred.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Problem-Solving Abilities:
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Regulations:
Strong foundational knowledge of DOT and local traffic laws. How to
