Job Description

Job Summary/Responsibilities This position is responsible for the planning and execution of the project’s waste program and processes, coordination with task managers, direct supervision of waste staff and supporting Waste Project Manager.  Promote a visible safety culture by participating and supporting behaviors desired with the project’s waste staff Function as the primary execution manager and delegate the technical duties to SMEs to meet LLRW plans Direct the generation of project waste that meets NRC, DOT, State and Disposal facility waste acceptance criteria Coordinate with project field managers to execute tasks Provide input to the Waste Project Manager for annual waste forecasts Execute waste strategies for the packaging, transportation and disposition of all project wastes Perform routine field observations of the project’s waste staff/processes and implement corrective actions Coordinate with the Waste Project Manager to affect safety and efficient waste operations Participate in peer-to-peer development and information sharing efforts with the Waste Project Manager Reviewing the governing Waste Program and implemented procedures in accordance with corporate and project requirements Participate in routine project specific planning meetings to maintain a waste focus on the decommissioning process Support routine information sharing with EnergySolutions’ Operational Waste Management group performing subcontracted services Coordination and scheduling logistics for waste packages and transportation Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements/Skills Working knowledge regarding the use of shipping software Detailed Knowledge of applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NRC and DOT regulations Familiarity with Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD) and/or commercial utility waste streams Strong written and verbal communication skills Effective problem solving skills Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products Accountable behavior Seeks tangible results Skills in people management and staff development Critical thinker Team building Strong understanding of a highly regulated environment Effective communicator  Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Education Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience Certifications Certified Broker preferred Required Experience 3 years nuclear experience with two years waste experience or EnergySolutions D&D Waste experience Preferred Experience At least 2 years of Radiation Protection experience EnergySolutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
