Seasonal General Laborer & Metals Recycling - Car Processor

Alaska Scrap & Recycling is hiring for a Seasonal Full Time Car Processor in Valdez for a summer project. Position is Temporary/Seasonal and expected to end on or around September 30, 2026.

Needed . Mechanical/Automotive experience a PLUS but NOT Required!

GREAT OPPORTUNITY

for someone with metals recycling experience, general laborer experience OR are a recent high school graduate, a college student on summer break (may be willing to work around school schedule) OR if you are just entering the work force OR just looking to learn a new skill!

Pay:

$20.00 per hour PLUS $1.80 additional per hour medical benefit (see Benefits below)

CAR PROCESSORS

work and assist in a variety of duties within the car processing department as assigned which may include but are not limited to: Dismantling tires from rims using a rim crusher, removal of fluids, batteries, mercury switches, catalytic convertors and wheels etc. Freon removal from vehicles & appliances Processing vehicles using power/hand tools, saws, power equipment etc. MUST be willing to perform heavy physical labor duties entire shift. Work conditions include heavy work in varying outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extremely cold temperatures, wind, snow, ice, rain and potential exposure to hazardous materials, exhaust fumes and odors.

80 per hour for every Regular Hour, PTO Hour and Holiday Hour earned & paid per pay period, up to a maximum of 80 hours & $144.00 per paid period.
