JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Must be able to read, write and do simple arithmetic, ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with limited supervision. Mechanical aptitude helpful. Experience Previous experience helpful. An experienced worker will need three to five days of instructions and at least 30 days on-the-job training under the direction of the Assistant Manager to perform satisfactorily. Physical This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. General hospital environment. Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Exposure to chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards. Operates floor machines - battery operated and electric, buffers, scrubbers, and wet vacuums and extractors. Continuous walking and standing. Lifting up to 75 lbs. Carrying up to 40lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 75lbs.
JOB SUMMARY
Principal duties involve trash and refuse removal from assigned areas, proper disposal of infectious and non-infectious waste. Assists with daily floor maintenance as needed.
