To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks accurately and timely.
The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to indoor and outdoor environments. The Employee may be exposed to an environment which includes moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, dirt, odor, noise, weather extremes or similar elements and physical occupation risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals). Extensive walking and stair climbing is required. The employee may frequently manually lift and move up to 50 lbs.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under close supervision, recovers recyclable materials and removes prohibitive and incidental waste from various waste streams in accordance with established standards and procedures. Operates a forklift and other similar equipment and maintains cleanliness of the Transfer Station. Great entry level position for a person with the required knowledge, but no required experience.REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBIITIES
: The following responsibilities are general duties that an employee in this positionmay or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Recovers recyclable and reusable materials from various waste streams for further processing.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Operates a forklift and other similar equipment as assigned.
- Inspects equipment operated before and after use, and reports any deficiencies to maintenance.
- Performs work in other job classifications as required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid California Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
