Job Description

As a Collections Operator, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in Waterbury, CT you'll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the sewer collection system on an assigned shift or emergency basis. You'll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. Primaries duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain equipment including but not limited to backhoe, excavator, CCTV truck, skid steer, and vactor/jetter truck, and equipment used in trenchwork.
- Operate remote closed-circuit cameras to record the internal condition of sewer pipelines and determine if cleaning and/or repairs are required prior to rehabilitation.
- Site preparation including attachment of Jetter hose, manhole covers, laying out bypass hoses, and traffic control.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment within the TV truck including fluid levels and service condition of tools and equipment.
- Clean and clear sewer lines.
- Adjust manhole covers and replace manhole frames.
- Inspect, camera, repair, and maintain flowing conditions in the sewer system.
- Perform operation and maintenance tasks at the landfill South End Disposal Area (SEDA) and pump stations around the City.
- Complete work orders and field complaint forms.
- Respond to Call-before-you-dig (CBYD) requests.
- Respond to sewer emergencies.

- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or have the ability to obtain one within one year of employment.
- Knowledge of sewer collection system and tools, equipment, materials used to maintain and repair system.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to be on-call.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- Approved courses in sewer collection systems.
- Safe work practices.
