CLASSIFICATION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Must obtain a class C wastewater operator's certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C. within two years of employment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Learns and assist to operate the Water Reclamation Plant in a safe and efficient manner, keeping in compliance with all existing requirements and published operational procedures. Learns and assist to record all required instrumentation readings, review data and take corrective action based on analysis of it. Learns and assist to operate sludge de-watering equipment. Performs routine cleaning of all buildings, rinses down all tanks and flumes and vacuums chlorine contact chambers Learns and assist to perform required laboratory analysis and takes corrective action based on laboratory tests. Learns and assist to monitor the operational status of all equipment. Learns and assist to shift from automatic operational mode to the manual mode as necessary. Learns and assist to perform required checkout procedures, re-calibrations and transfer system from manual mode to operational mode Learns and assist to make adjustment to equipment as required. Learns and assist to maintain plant operational and security status weekends, holidays and after normal working hours. Learns and assist to maintain daily records Learns and assist plant mechanics and perform preventive maintenance as needed. Proof of a State of Florida Class E operator's license required. Class "C" Wastewater License must be obtained by the end of the eighteen (18) months of employment. The costs of all books and instructions including one test will be paid by the University.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE
Daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during initial training period for 6 months, then transition to evenings from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., total hours per week: 40
EXPECTED SALARY:
$16.00 to $17.00 Hourly
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Must obtain a class C wastewater operator's certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C. within two years of employment.
PREFERRED
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Learn advanced waste water treatment principles, use of hand tools, computer use and safety rules.
LEARN SKILLS IN
Chemistry, biology, mechanical working, and process control
ABILITY TO
Learn to operate plant with minor supervision, interpret results of process control tests and adjust plant accordingly, maintain proper log sheets, and communicate with preceding and following shift workers.
