Aquatic Technician Kailua-Kona, HI From $21 an hour - Full-time From $21 an hour - Full-time Wai Kai Inc's goal is to create and maintain healthy, beautiful, living aquatic ecosystems. These ecosystems range from koi ponds, tropical fish ponds, turtle ponds, garden ponds, saltwater ponds, saltwater aquariums, and freshwater aquariums. The aquatic technician's job is to maintain these systems on a scheduled basis by performing a number of tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to, up-keeping aquatic plant health, checking and adjusting water chemistry, observing animal health and behavior, removing debris and waste, cleaning filtration, and repairing equipment as needed. We are a small, female owned business that strives to operate in an environmentally conscious manner. On the job training is provided so no prior knowledge required but we are looking for someone with a passion for plants, animals, and providing a high quality service. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds, be willing to be in the water and get their hands dirty. High school diploma and valid driver's license required. SCUBA certification is ideal, but not required. Starting pay is $21 per hour. Work hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm but can vary based on work load. Medical insurance provided at no cost.
