Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic Public Works team as a Public Works Employee, where your hands-on skills and dedication will keep our community's infrastructure running smoothly! In this vital role, you will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across public facilities, roads, parks, and utilities. Your work will directly impact the safety, accessibility, and quality of life for residents. This position offers an energetic environment where proactive problem-solving and teamwork are celebrated. Whether operating heavy machinery or performing routine upkeep, your efforts will help build and sustain a vibrant community. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, garbage truck, and trucks to perform construction, maintenance, and repair projects. Conduct routine inspections of roads, sidewalks, parks, and utility systems to identify issues needing attention. Perform manual labor using hand tools and power tools for tasks like digging, road repair, and installing signage. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections. Skills Experience operating heavy machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, or similar equipment. Valid truck driving license with a clean driving record for transporting materials and equipment. Ability to weld metal components using various welding techniques. Skilled in using hand tools (hammers, wrenches) and power tools (drills, saws) safely and effectively. Class B CDL preferred or must begin process to obtain within 30 days of employment Must be able to obtain required IDNR Certifications for Water and Wastewater operations.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
