Job Description
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.
Summary Simplot Grower Solutions is looking to fill a seasonal Laborer/Operations Support position. Full-time, temporary, position with full benefits and the opportunity for substantial over-time hours. The primary responsibility is to assist with daily plant operations.
Key Responsibilities Equipment and plant maintenance; including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers, operating equipment to blend fertilizer and chemicals, cleaning and storing equipment after application process Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions Maintain a conscientiousness for safety at all times while performing all duties Represent selves and the Company professionally at all times Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, etc. Disclaimer - The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this positionSkills & Relevant Experience 1+ years related experience Truck driving experience preferred Forklift experience preferred Mechanical experience (pumps, trucks, small engines) a plus Proficiency with smart devices and ELD's (Electronic Log Device) is highly preferred Knowledge of local rural geography is a plus Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation preferred Ability to do a variety of tasks in succession, i.e., blending products together, loading a truck, and driving the truck to a farm Requirements Valid Driver's license Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs Must be willing and able to work Ag-Industry hours, which may include: Early mornings Late evenings Overtime as seasonal needs demand Weekends and holidays as seasonal needs demand Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job
