Sanitation Technician

at Grecian Delights Foods in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States Job Description At Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods , a Sanitation Technician, is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and food safety standards of the production facility, primarily by cleaning and sanitizing industrial food processing equipment. This role is critical to preventing contamination and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like USDA, FDA, and HACCP .

Key Responsibilities Equipment Cleaning :

Disassembling, cleaning, and sanitizing production machinery and parts using high-pressure washers, foamers, and approved chemicals.

Facility Maintenance :

Cleaning production floors, common areas (restrooms, locker rooms, lunchrooms), and exterior grounds, including trash removal.

Regulatory Compliance :

Adhering strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

Documentation :

Maintaining accurate sanitation logs, chemical usage records, and inspection reports for audit readiness.

Safety Protocols :

Safely handling industrial cleaning chemicals and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) , such as face shields, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Job Requirements & Qualifications Education :

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is generally preferred.

Experience :

Previous experience in sanitation or a food manufacturing environment is often desired; the company is often willing to train motivated workers.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds , and work in varied environments (cold, hot, or humid).

Availability :

Frequently requires working the 3rd shift (overnight), including weekends and holidays as needed.

Compensation & Culture Pay :

$16.50 - $18.00p/hour
