Recreation General Description:

The Camp Caretaker position is responsible for the camp's overall upkeep, safety, and functionality. This position ensures that campers and staff enjoy a clean, well-maintained, and safe environment. Duties include routine maintenance and basic custodial tasks, as well as responding to and supporting camp staff as needed. This role is ideal for a hands-on, reliable individual, who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in keeping facilities in top shape, and values contributing to a positive camp experience for all.

Primary Essential Functions:

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may be performed. Maintain the cleanliness of all cabins and administrative building through housekeeping tasks. Conduct daily inspections of facilities to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance needs, and report to the Camp Director. Maintain campgrounds including picking up trash, removing small brush, etc. Oversee waste management, including removal of trash and recycling from all buildings and grounds, properly disposing of materials. Assist with setup and breakdown of camp activities and events. Maintain accurate records of all cleaning supplies and inventory. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in bathrooms daily. Support camp staff in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Perform any other tasks appropriate to the facility that are assigned by your supervisor.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good physical stamina and the ability to lift/move object Ability to lift 50lbs as needed Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Experience and Training:
