A Day in the Life of a Sanitation Team Member … Every day looks a little different, but here's what you can expect on a typical shift: Arrive at your work area and put on the proper PPE. Review your sanitation assignments and check that cleaning supplies and tools are ready. At the end of production runs, remove soils and debris from equipment and prepare it for deep cleaning. Carefully apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals while following safety guidelines. Rinse, scrub, and sanitize equipment, floors, and surfaces to food safety standards. Complete inspections, swab tests, or chemical tests to confirm proper cleaning. Sanitize common areas such as restrooms, locker rooms, and breakrooms. Document all sanitation activities and report any equipment or safety issues. Assist with end-of-shift clean-up and get the facility ready for the next production day. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize production equipment and facility areas to prevent contamination. Safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow PPE requirements. Perform sanitation verification (inspections, swab testing, documentation). Maintain cleanliness of employee areas and facility grounds. Care for and maintain sanitation tools and equipment. Follow all company food safety and sanitation programs. What we're looking for … High school diploma or GED (preferred). Reliability and a positive, team-first attitude. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and stoop for extended periods. Hand-eye coordination and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Attention to detail and willingness to follow food safety procedures.
