Connect Staffing is hiring Sanitation Workers for a food production facility in Pittsburgh, PA (15238). In this role, you'll clean and sanitize production equipment and facility areas using industrial tools like pressure washers and foam applicators, while following food safety standards, GMPs, and sanitation procedures. Work Environment:
Food Production Facility Responsibilities Execute all required steps of sanitation on equipment and facility infrastructure per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Operate pressure washers, foam applicators, chemical dosing systems, floor scrubbers, and squeegees to clean production areas. Mix and dilute chemical cleaning agents to correct concentrations using titration kits or test strips Inspect parts and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Identify and report food safety hazards, damaged gaskets, or pest activity observed during cleaning Perform detailed cleaning of idle equipment, ceilings, walls, and exterior building surfaces. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each task and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures. Monitor supply usage and report any issues or shortages to the Sanitation Lead. Minimum Requirements 3+ months of prior experience in sanitation, industrial cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or other hands-on physical labor work. Preferred Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively in English to follow written and verbal safety and sanitation instructions. Prior food plant or commercial sanitation experience, including breakdown and reassembly of production equipment. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) or Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) in a food or beverage facility. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment, such as pressure washers, foam applicators, and floor scrubbers. Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and chemical handling safety. Ability to work from elevated platforms or lifts to clean at height. Experience following a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) or Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Pre-Employment Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently. Pass a drug screen and background check. Ability to stand for extended periods and bend and twist frequently throughout the shift. Ability to work at a fast pace in a wet, chemical, and temperature-variable production environment.
