Job Description Halperin Park Park Services Associate I & Park Services Associate II (Full Time) Non-Profit, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Park Services Host II is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation throughout Halperin Park using specialized equipment and advanced cleaning techniques. This role focuses on deep cleaning, high-reach maintenance, and the operation of equipment such as pressure washers and lifts to ensure the park remains clean, safe, and visually appealing. This is a hands-on role that supports both daily operations and event readiness, requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering a consistently high-quality guest environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Perform advanced cleaning and grounds maintenance using specialized equipment, including pressure washers, high-reach, and elevated systems. Operate lifts and other equipment to clean structures, lighting, signage, and fixtures at height. Conduct deep-cleaning activities such as hardscape washing, stain removal, and detailed surface cleaning. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all outdoor areas, including walkways, plazas, seating areas, and gathering spaces. Support trash and recycling operations, including emptying, relining, and maintaining receptacles and compactors. Assist with event-related cleaning, including pre-event preparation and post-event restoration. Inspect, maintain, and safely operate cleaning equipment and tools. Identify and report maintenance, safety, or operational issues. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to equipment guidelines. Support opening and closing cleaning procedures and overall park readiness. Transport and set up equipment for daily cleaning operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Background and Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2-4 years of experience in janitorial, grounds, facilities, or outdoor maintenance work. Experience operating cleaning or maintenance equipment such as pressure washers or similar tools. Ability to safely perform elevated or high-reach work. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing or walking. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards. Ability to work independently and maintain quality with minimal supervision. Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and events. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Experience operating lifts or elevated equipment. Experience supporting cleaning operations for events or high-traffic public spaces. Familiarity with safety procedures related to equipment operation and PPE. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time About Halperin Park Halperin Park is a five-acre deck park spanning Interstate 35E between Ewing and Marsalis Avenues, directly adjacent to the Dallas Zoo. This "Park with a Purpose" is designed to help transform Southern Dallas and serve as a catalyst for closing the opportunity gap created in the 1950s with the placement of the highway through the center of Oak Cliff.
