The Spotter plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations within the administrative support and waste management industry. This position involves closely monitoring and guiding the movement of heavy machinery, vehicles, or equipment to prevent accidents and ensure precise placement. The Spotter acts as the eyes and ears for operators, communicating clearly to navigate complex environments and avoid hazards. By maintaining constant vigilance and situational awareness, the Spotter helps uphold workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance. Ultimately, this role contributes to smooth operational workflows and the protection of personnel and property on site.Pay:
$20.00-21.00 per hourSchedule:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours guaranteed.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Spotter Certification. Basic understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment and vehicle operations. Ability to communicate effectively using hand signals and radios. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one if required for site access.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a spotter or in a similar safety support role within waste management or industrial settings. Certification in occupational safety or related training (e.g., OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course). Familiarity with waste management operations and equipment types. First aid and CPR certification. Experience using two-way radios and other communication technology in a work environment.Responsibilities:
Direct and guide equipment operators during loading, unloading, and maneuvering tasks to ensure safe and accurate positioning. Maintain clear and continuous communication with operators using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices. Monitor the surrounding environment for potential safety hazards and alert team members promptly to mitigate risks. Assist in coordinating site traffic flow to prevent congestion and accidents in busy operational areas. Conduct pre-operation safety checks and report any equipment or site issues to supervisors immediately.Benefits:
