Job Description

Volunteer Firefighter / First Responder - EMT Preferred Job Summary The Dunnigan Fire Protection District is seeking motivated individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the fire service as Volunteer Firefighters. This is a non-paid , entry-level position. Volunteers respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, vehicle accidents, wildland incidents, and other emergencies while working alongside experienced firefighters. Firefighters are required to work one 24 hour shift per week. This position provides valuable training and real-world experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career in firefighting or emergency medical services. Volunteer firefighters also assist with training drills, equipment maintenance, station duties, and community outreach activities. About Dunnigan Fire Protection District The Dunnigan Fire Protection District serves the community of Dunnigan and surrounding areas in Yolo County, California, providing fire suppression, rescue services, emergency medical response, and community fire prevention. 100, 200, and 700 Class A drivers license or Firefighter endorsement Experience No prior firefighting experience is required. Volunteer firefighters are expected to complete the department's probationary firefighter training packet within one year of joining the department. Schedule Volunteer firefighters are required to work one 24-hour shift per week on an assigned day.
