Cabinet Sander Job Summary:

The Cabinet Sander is responsible for preparing wood cabinet components and finished products for painting, finishing, or final assembly by sanding surfaces to ensure smoothness, consistency, and quality standards. This position plays a key role in the finishing process by inspecting materials, removing imperfections, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sand cabinet doors, drawers, frames, panels, and other wood components using hand tools, power sanders, and sanding equipment. Inspect wood surfaces for defects such as scratches, dents, glue residue, rough edges, or imperfections. Prepare products for painting, finishing, or assembly by ensuring surfaces meet quality standards. Follow production schedules and meet daily output goals. Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to finished or semi-finished products. Maintain sanding equipment and report any mechanical issues to supervisors. Keep work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing guidelines. Assist with other production or finishing tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, sanding, or general production preferred. Ability to use hand tools, orbital sanders, belt sanders, and related equipment. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and machinery. PPE such as safety glasses, dust masks, hearing protection, and gloves required.

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
